“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”
Year of the Calm
There’s this amazing lesson that I’ve learned in 2016. I’ve grown to be completely alone and in tune with myself in every possible way. I’ve grown so much in this way that I actually prefer being by myself than with anyone else. Granted I enjoy being around my friends but I realized being a person who lives in their head is magical. I comfortable with the idea that I am surrounded by my own colorful thoughts. I believe resolutions I have always stuck to my resolutions and that’s because they’re always realistic.I stick to things that I know I can change. But this year is a little different I have adopted a new motto, Year of the Calm, I felt somewhat genuine peace but this year I want to relax in the sense of if I don’t want to do something that poses no value then I’m not doing it. If it’s a party or even just hanging out with my friends to long. I held a fear of missing out for so long and I’m ready to get it completely over with.
“Something else that’s important to know about my resolutions these aren’t things that are going to drastically be changed in the New Year.”
These are issues or changes that I recognize from the previous year that I want work on. It may be accomplished with in that year and it may not be but I will drop it
1.Bye Bye Red Meat
This will be something I’ve never tried before I always keep my pork eating to a minimum (obsessed with pulled pork so it kills me every time). But lately I have been doing some research into transitioning into a vegetarian diet. For me I will be cutting one meat out at a time. This will be a journey for me and I’m so excited about. I love animals and I care about my health and the benefits of this lifestyle change is something that I cans say that I’m proud of.
2.Dress It Up
Fashion is everything to me. I love clothing and I enjoy styling clothing for myself. This is something I have been working on for the last few months. I have styled myself for the year and what that means is I have a book of rough sketches of clothes from my closet and I broke down the outfit, the hair, and the make up of that look. That way I wont be standing in front of my closet trying to figure out what’s in there I can see it clear as day. So 2017 I WILL SLAY YOU!!!
3.If It is Done, Let it be Done
I react that is one of my biggest character flaws. In every negative situation I freak out. So my hope for the future is that I can learn that if something was said or done to me then it’s over with. I can’t change the past and being petty will not solve anything. This is an issue I have forever but now is the time to change because I’ve realized you can’t change the people around you and their behavior but you can change your actions with those people.
4. 2016 you did damage, but I loved it
Say what you want about 2016. It may have been won of the worst years of our generation thus far but it was also such big lesson to us. We got a trash president he won’t be the first and he won’t be the last. A lot of greats passed away and it seemed like so did a lot of love ones. People die every year so there’s nothing new there. The point I’m getting at is that all this past year was, was a year. A mark on the timeline, we can focus on the negatives but truly remember the beauty of your years and the good times. Dwelling on it won’t change that happened. It is done, let it be.
“Be good to people and yourself. Find kindness in the year. Embrace who you are, what you can do, and how far you’ll go.”
